Hi, I'm Julieanna.

IMG_7043.JPG

I am a board-certified Marriage and Family Therapist licensed to practice in the state of California. I have years of successful experience counseling individuals and families. I am passionate about women’s mental health and specialize in treating women suffering and ready to heal from the effects of life’s challenges, traumatic events, and transitions, which can often manifest as symptoms of anxiety, depression, dysfunctional relationship patterns, negative body image issues, and unhelpful relationships with food. Collaboratively, I help my clients identify, evaluate, and resolve inner conflicts, strengthen existing and learn new coping skills, building resilience, and confidence.

My approach to therapy is humanistic, providing a supportive, empathetic, non-judgmental, and confidential therapeutic space to work with you on the issues you bring to counseling.

I earned a Master of Arts degree in Counseling, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Saint Mary’s College of California,  a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Behavior from the University of San Francisco and an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Studies from Marymount California University. My research and writing have focused on women’s mental health, relational trauma and resilience. My background has trained me to see people holistically, taking into account the entirety of the person mentally, emotionally, spiritually, physiologically, and environmentally. The nature of the human mind is malleable, learns quickly from relational experiences, and has the ability to change, grow and flourish throughout the lifespan.

Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.
— Aristotle

In therapy, my focus is to be present with you, getting to know your personal and cultural needs and goals to be able to collaboratively determine the course of action tailored to best serve you. Our work together is outcome driven to meet your objectives and goals. I routinely check in with you to gather your feedback about how you feel about your progress in therapy.

We are partners in your healing process.

Connected communication is key. I support and seek to help you activate the self-healing potentials within you, always remembering that only you have the power to make the changes you need and want to make. It would be my honor to help you on your journey to a better state of being.

When you’re ready, please contact me for a free 15 minute consultation.

The “No Surprises” Act

The No Surprises Act.  The law, effective January 1, 2022, includes new requirements for health care providers, facilities, health plans, and insurers that are intended to prevent consumers (a.k.a. patients) from receiving unanticipated medical bills. In anticipation of the new laws, the federal government recently published the accompanying regulations or rules for compliance. Part 1 of the subsequent regulations protects consumers with health plan coverage from surprise bills from out-of-network MFT providers under limited circumstances related to emergency and non-emergency services at in-network facilities. Part II of the no-surprise billing regulations, published in October of 2021, requires all healthcare providers and healthcare facilities licensed, certified, or approved by the state to provide good faith estimates of expected charges for services and items offered to uninsured and self-pay consumers. I am an out-of-network provider who accepts self-pay clients and as such will be providing current and future clients with Good Faith Estimates (GFE). Please see below.

 GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE (GFE)

You are entitled to receive this “Good Faith Estimate” of what the charges could be for psychotherapy services provided to you. While it is not possible for a psychotherapist to know, in advance, how many psychotherapy sessions may be necessary or appropriate for a given person, this form provides an estimate of the cost of services provided. Your total cost of services will depend upon the number of psychotherapy sessions you attend, your individual circumstances, and the type and amount of services that are provided to you.

There may be additional items or services I may recommend as part of your care that must be scheduled or requested separately and are not reflected in this good faith estimate. This estimate is not a contract and does not obligate you to obtain any services from the provider(s) listed, nor does it include any services rendered to you that are not identified here.

You have the right to initiate a dispute resolution process if the actual amount charged to you substantially exceeds the estimated charges stated in your Good Faith Estimate (which means $400 or more beyond the estimated charges).

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate or the dispute process, visit https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises/consumers or call 1- 800-985-3059. The initiation of the patient-provider dispute resolution process will not adversely affect the quality of the services furnished to you.

GRE for Recurring Visits – Example

The fee for a 60-minute psychotherapy visit via telehealth is $165.00.  Most clients will attend one psychotherapy visit per week, but the frequency of psychotherapy visits that are appropriate in your case may be more or less than once per week, depending upon your needs. Based upon a fee of $165.00 per visit, if you attend one psychotherapy visit per week, your estimated charge would be $660.00 for four visits provided over the course of one month; $1,320.00 for eight visits over two months; or $1,980.00 for 12 visits over three months.  If you attend therapy for a longer period, your total estimated charges will increase according to the number of visits and length of treatment.

This Good Faith Estimate is not intended to serve as a recommendation for treatment or a prediction that you may need to attend a specified number of psychotherapy visits. The number of visits that are appropriate in your case, and the estimated cost for those services, depends on your needs and what you agree to in consultation with your therapist.  You are entitled to disagree with any recommendations made to you concerning your treatment and you may discontinue treatment at any time.

I encourage you to speak with me at any time about any questions you may have regarding therapeutic services, your treatment plan, or the information provided to you in this Good Faith Estimate.

Date of this Estimate:  January 5, 2022
